In addition to our international aid, we are also involved locally. ora Kinderhilfe e. V. is a recognized independent youth welfare organization according to § 75 SGB VIII. We run two family centers in Berlin: the intercultural meeting center "aufatmen" in Lichtenberg and the Potpourri family center in Karlshorst.
The intercultural family center "aufatmen"
The intercultural family center "aufatmen" was founded on 07.10.2017. People meet there - across all cultural boundaries. Singles, single parents, couples, families, senior citizens and people from all countries and cultures are welcome to meet there.
It is a place:
- to make contacts and get to know each other
- to take advantage of a wide range of offers
- to experience intercultural diversity
- to experience the importance of religion for society
- which enriches the cultural and social life in Berlin-Lichtenberg
- where the international development cooperation of ora Kinderhilfe can be experienced.

The Potpourri Family Center
The "Potpourri" was founded in 1988 and is located in Berlin-Karslhorst. It offers many different activities for children and adults in the neighborhood. These include open playgroups, toddler groups, family breakfasts and courses such as PEKiP, Pilates and children's theater. Since 1998, there have also been parents' evenings, children's movies, parties, flea markets, puppet shows, vacation games, sports and music. In the daily parent consultation hour, caregivers receive information, advice and contacts. Potpourri is a place for exchange and encounters. It helps to strengthen family relationships and supports parents in bringing up their children.
