ORA International Moldova, our partner organization in the Republic of Moldova, has been supporting children and their families for over 30 years and runs a total of four children's centers. As a volunteer, you will be part of the colorful everyday life in one of the children's centers, where you will accompany children and young people with heart, energy and creativity, who find a protected place full of warmth and joie de vivre here after school.
Many of these children grow up without their parents because they work abroad to support the family. This makes the children's center all the more important - a place to play, laugh and simply be a child.

What you can expect: real encounters and meaningful tasks
As a volunteer, you are right in the middle of the action: You support the educational team and can contribute your skills: Whether musical, sporty, creative or simply with an open ear. No two days are the same!
- Accompanying the educational afternoon program: Homework help, handicrafts, games, dancing, language support, workshops
- Domestic support, e.g. with cooking and preparing meals
- Creative leisure activities - your ideas are welcome!
- Helping with gardening: tending the beds, planting, harvesting together
- Workshops on topics such as the environment, children's rights and sustainability
Requirements for your volunteer work in the Republic of Moldova:
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Romanian or Russian language skills (at least A2 level)
- Interest in Moldovan culture
- Enjoy working with children and young people aged 6 to 13 years
- Openness, reliability and team spirit
- Willingness to comply with our child protection policy
- Curriculum vitae and letter of motivation in English
- Extended police clearance certificate
- Consent to the declarations of liability of ora Kinderhilfe

Insight into a country full of contrasts
Best period of use: April to October
Duration of assignment: from 3 weeks
Your placement will not only give you an authentic insight into the everyday lives of children, but also into rural life in the Republic of Moldova. During the orientation days in the capital Chişinău, you will first immerse yourself in the history and present of the country before moving on to one of the four children's centers. If you wish, you can even work in two centers and change locations in between.
Each children's center has a lockable guest room where you can stay for the duration of your volunteer placement. You will eat lunch together with the children and the educational team and you will have to organize breakfast and dinner yourself.
At the weekend there is time to explore the surrounding area, get to know people or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.
