Earthquakes, storms, heatwaves and floods destroy the homes and safety of millions of children and their families in a matter of seconds. Many lose their entire livelihoods in the blink of an eye.

Even "silent disasters" such as famines, droughts, wars or pandemics threaten the lives of many people.

Quick help for those in need

In the event of sudden disasters, we take care of children and their families quickly and unbureaucratically. We provide them with drinking water, food, hygiene articles, clothing and medicines. We provide pastoral care, listen, pray with victims and comfort them in seemingly hopeless situations.

Where possible, we also help with reconstruction. We rebuild schools, houses and water and power lines so that children and their families can start a new life. Thanks to our committed partners around the world, we can act quickly and effectively. For example, we were on the scene with sleeping bags and food just one day after the terrible earthquake in Turkey and Syria in February 2023.

We do not leave children and families alone even in "silent disasters". During the drought in southern Kenya, we provided emergency aid by distributing food, drinking water and cash to families. Children suffer particularly from hunger and thirst - with your help, we can give them hope again.
