Ukraine: Air strikes hit project area - children particularly affected

The Zhytomyr region in north-western Ukraine, a central project area of ora Kinderhilfe, is currently being rocked by massive air strikes. These are the heaviest attacks on civilian infrastructure since the beginning of the war - with serious consequences for the local population. Children in particular are suffering from the tense and dangerous situation.

Despite these circumstances, our partner organization "House of Bread" provides up to 1,500 people with hot meals, hygiene products and clothing every day. Many of them are internally displaced persons - including numerous children, who are particularly vulnerable. Ten of the 36 soup kitchens have already had to close since the war began.

ora Kinderhilfe is in close contact with its local partners and forwards donations directly to secure the remaining supply points. If you would like to donate for children in Ukraine, you are supporting the emergency aid in Zhytomyr in a very concrete way.

On August 14, 2025, a new aid transport will also start from our warehouse in Korbach to Zhytomyr - loaded with food, hygiene products and clothing donated by committed companies.
